Nothing else in our range is as awkward to move as savoury snacks, and the arithmetic is worth understanding before the first order rather than after it. A pallet of crisps weighs almost nothing. The bags are gas-flushed to protect the product and cannot be compressed without destroying it, so a snack container fills its available volume and runs out of floor long before it approaches its payload limit. You are paying to ship air, and the freight cost per selling unit is decided by how well that air is arranged.

Cube is the constraint, not weight

Two things follow. The first is that pack size drives landed cost more than the product does. Sharing bags and large formats eat volume far faster than a compact format of equivalent value, and a fixture built entirely from the biggest bags can make a long lane uneconomic on its own. The second is that snacks are the natural partner for something dense. Canned and tubed stacks are the exception within the category, being rigid, heavier for their volume and properly stackable, and a load that pairs bagged lines with canned lines, or with a dense category from elsewhere in the range, uses both the deck and the payload instead of one of them. How pallets and containers are planned goes through that trade-off in detail.

Fragility once the pallet is mixed

The other snack problem is crush. Bagged and boxed snacks are the lightest thing in most mixed loads, so they belong at the top of the stack, which is also where a poorly built layer above them or a pallet that works loose on the road leg does the damage. Where snacks travel with heavier categories we build the deck so nothing dense sits over them, and that is a conversation better had at enquiry than settled afterwards through the claims procedure. Tell us the format split, the destination and whether the load is snacks only or mixed. If ambient bakery is part of the fixture, flag it separately, because its dating is tighter than that of fried and extruded lines and it wants to be near the front of the order rather than added at the end.
