Monster Energy exported from Madrid as genuine EU-produced stock in sealed manufacturer packaging, with the flavour split, label set and market version settled before the pallet plan is built.

  • Mixed-flavour pallets built in whole layers
  • EU caffeine labelling carried on the pack
  • Sale restrictions vary by destination market
  • Case, pallet, mixed pallet or FCL
  • EXW Madrid, FOB, CFR, CIF, DAP

Quotes are issued against confirmed allocation and state production origin, fill size, pack construction and lead time. Typical turnaround is one business day.

Specification

How Monster Energy is supplied

Format availability is allocation-dependent, so the exact specification always travels on the pro-forma invoice rather than being fixed on a web page. Tell us the destination and the label rule you work to, and we confirm which market version is on offer before you commit.

An energy can carries obligations a cola does not, and they follow it across the border. Before the range conversation is worth having, an importer of Monster Energy needs to know what the European pack is required to say, and who in the destination market is permitted to sell it. Iguazu Trading exports the brand from Madrid as genuine EU-produced stock in the manufacturer's own sealed packaging, worldwide, within the wider beverage portfolio we load for export.

What the European pack has to declare

Under EU food information rules, a beverage containing more than 150 mg of caffeine per litre, other than those based on coffee or tea, must carry the statement High caffeine content. Not recommended for children or pregnant or breast-feeding women, in the same field of vision as the product name, with the caffeine content declared alongside it. Standard energy cans sit above that threshold, so the warning is on the pack you receive rather than something anyone adds later.

That has a practical consequence at import. The statement is printed in the language of the market the stock was produced for, and if your entry requires the mandatory particulars in another language, that requirement covers the caffeine warning too. It is the single element most often overlooked when an importer plans supplementary labelling, because attention goes to the ingredient list and the nutrition table. We do not relabel or over-sticker stock ourselves; what we do is confirm the market version and label language of the specific allocation on offer, before the pro-forma is signed, so you can plan your own compliance work against something definite.

Who may sell it at the far end

Energy drinks are treated differently from soft drinks in a growing number of markets. Several EU member states restrict sale to minors: Lithuania and Latvia have done so for some years, and Poland introduced a ban on sales to under-18s at the start of 2024. Elsewhere the restriction is not statutory at all but comes from the retailers, with major grocers applying their own age policy at the till.

None of this changes your export documentation, and none of it is a reason to avoid the category. It changes the channel. A listing built around convenience and forecourt accounts behaves differently in a market with an age gate at the till than in one without, and it is worth confirming the position in your destination before you fix the depth of a first order rather than after. Rules in this area have moved in several markets recently, so treat any summary, including this one, as a prompt to check the current text with your own adviser rather than as advice.

Breadth is the commercial character of this brand

The defining feature of this line at wholesale is the number of SKUs. There is a core can that anchors demand almost everywhere, a sugar-free family that picks up people who would never reach for the core, and a juiced and punch group that sells on flavour curiosity and drives the trial that keeps a chiller moving. Collaboration and seasonal releases arrive and disappear on their own cycle above all three.

Hardly any market has the shelf to face all of it, and trying is the standard route to stock you cannot move. Pick the sugar-free variants against what the zero-sugar shopper in that market already buys elsewhere in the chiller, and pick the fruit-led ones against local taste rather than against a European planogram. Tropical and citrus profiles behave very differently from one region to the next — a flavour that carries a chiller in one market can sit still in another. Then leave room to be wrong: a first container should be composed so that the second one can be corrected against real sell-through rather than defended.

Building a mixed-flavour pallet

Yes, a pallet can carry more than one flavour, and for an opening order into a new market that is usually the right build. The rule we work to is whole layers of a single flavour stacked onto one base, rather than cases intermingled through the stack. Built that way, the pallet can be counted without being taken apart, a warehouse can pull one line off it without re-sorting the rest, and the packing list matches what a clearance agent would see if they cut the wrap.

Layer counts, cases per layer, which flavour occupies which layer and how many positions a 20ft or 40ft absorbs are fixed on the offer against the stock in front of us. None of it is published, and we will not put a flavour split in writing before checking it against what is genuinely open. A build that cannot be filled is of no use whatever to somebody who has already reserved space on a vessel. Mixed-brand pallets are built the same way and are entirely standard.

Loading, terms and papers

For the value they carry, cans weigh very little, so an energy container tends to run out of room before it runs out of permitted weight — the opposite of a load built on large PET, and a good reason to consider a denser category alongside it on the same booking. Loading is from our Madrid warehouse, which is inland: Valencia around 355 km, Barcelona around 620 km, each roughly a day's haul, with Algeciras for transhipment and Coslada for rail.

We trade EXW Madrid, meaning our own premises rather than a port, plus FOB, CFR, CIF and DAP under Incoterms 2020; DDP is not offered as standard. Shipments carry a commercial invoice, packing list, export declaration and transport document, a Certificate of Origin, and a EUR.1 movement certificate where a preferential agreement between the EU and the destination applies. We are an independent distributor of genuine brand-owner stock with no appointment from any brand owner, we supply trade buyers only, and the recurring questions about quantities, documents and terms are answered in our trade FAQ.

What we need to quote a flavour split

A useful enquiry on this brand is shorter than most buyers expect. Give us the destination port, the flavours your market genuinely ranges rather than the full catalogue, the quantity in cases, pallets or containers, and the Incoterm. If you have sell-through data from an earlier shipment, even a rough one, send it — it is more useful than any recommendation we could make from Madrid.

What comes back states which flavours and formats are open for your window, the market version and label language of that stock, a pallet plan built in whole layers, the document set and a firm price, normally within one business day on listed brands. Where a flavour you have asked for is not available in Europe or is not open in the quantity you need, we say so rather than proposing the nearest thing and letting you discover the difference at the far end. If you are shipping into a market you have not covered before, our summary of the markets we ship to and how each route runs is a reasonable place to start before the specification is fixed.
